The
expansion of the Grantley Adams International Airport,
which has more than doubled the previous size of the terminal
building, was handed over in early 2006. During its
construction process our principal, the Geest Line, was
charged with transporting much of this cargo which consisted
of re-bar, construction steel, specialized steel girders
as well as equipment. Much of this cargo required careful
handling due to the delicate nature of the finishes to
the steel girders. Sea Freight Agencies, as Stevedoring
Contractors for the Geest Line, successfully handled the
discharge and supply of this cargo during construction
of the project.
Sea
Freight Agencies was also involved in the handling and stevedoring
of the materials and equipment used in parts of the expansion
of the Bridgetown Port.
